2024 Year In Review
2024
JANUARY
We kicked off the year with Twin Kits featuring our Till Death Rings. Silver-silver, gold-gold, or mixed metals—a perfect pair for sharing. What started as a simple idea took on a whole new meaning when people began ordering them as wedding rings. That one really blew our minds. Flowers wilt, silver doesn’t.
FEBRUARY
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we introduced the Breakable Pendant. A two-in-one piece that snaps perfectly in half, designed to be shared. It might look simple, but trust us, this one took months of research and development to get the snap just right. Seeing you wear one half and gift the other? That’s what it’s all about.
MARCH
This one was a first for us: the Lox & Chain Team Jersey. It’s always been about more than jewellery—it’s about a community, and this moment really solidified that.
APRIL
The (d)ivergence collection finally dropped. This one was a long time coming, with an idea that evolved so many times along the way. The result? A mix of juxtaposing textures—pearls alongside barbed wire, fixed chains, and industrial accents. It’s about opposites that somehow work together. Seeing your reactions to this one made all the challenges worth it.
MAY
We hit the Californian Desert to shoot The Heist campaign. Moto sports, vintage cars, and desert landscapes set the tone for one of our boldest projects yet. It was one of those moments where everything just came together.
JUNE
You asked for gold, and we delivered. Heavy gold vermeil on 925 silver. High-quality pieces crafted to last. It’s always been about listening to what you want and creating pieces that meet those expectations.
JULY
Collaborating with surfer Jack Freestone was a total dream. 15-year-old Zak would’ve been losing it, 27-year-old Zak was losing it—working with someone he looked up to for years and having the campaign shot by one of our favorite cinematographers? Unreal.
AUGUST
The Flaming Heart Ring became an instant icon. Bold, intricate, and unlike anything we’d done before.
SEPTEMBER
The RODEO collection took us to Texas. Inspired by the grit and style of rodeo culture, it brought bold designs to life in the most iconic setting.
Bringing out our first proper apparel drop was a big process. Taking ages to find the right suppliers who understand our mission to create the highest quality pieces. We dropped them in super limited quantities and it wasn't nearly enough for the demand we had. Pinch us.
Full BTS here. Don't mess with Texas.
OCTOBER
The Boot Lighter Carabiner. Technical, small-batch, and totally unexpected. A cowboy boot that holds a lighter—need we say more?
NOVEMBER
Mania. This one felt like a risk. Dark, bold, and a little outside our usual style. We nearly scrapped it, but you proved us wrong. Thank you for supporting the unexpected.
DECEMBER
We ended the year with Engravables. Legacies etched in silver. Memories you can wear every day. The response has been overwhelming, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Looking back, we’re blown away. You’ve supported every idea, risk, and collection we’ve put out this year. We’re still a small business, just the two of us, and yet we get to do this. It’s surreal.
From Byron Bay to wherever you are—thank you for being part of this journey.
Can't wait to show you guys what we have in store for next year.
Big love,
Zak + Frei
